BEDS FOR BABIES

A good night's sleep has been shown to improve a child's learning and development. It can also improve the whole family's physical and mental health. This can be disrupted by bed poverty, for example broken beds, soiled or mouldy bedding, having no choice but to share a bed, or lack of an age appropriate bed.

The Beds for Babies scheme can support families through the provision of:

• Moses Baskets
• Cots
• Cot beds
• Toddler beds
• Mattresses
• Bedding bundles

There are two variations of the scheme in Barnsley.

The boroughwide offer is by referral only and families can receive a bed product for children under the age of 5. We have a range of products depending on the age of the child and space available, including appropriate bedding.

The Goldthorpe Pilot is for families in Goldthorpe who can receive the same offer but also dedicated support from an early help practitioner for those families needing additional help.
